Truework Joins FTA
Along with Klarna and others, Truework becomes the newest member of the Financial Technology Association trade group
Putting consumers first is a core tenet in our culture and values at Truework. To put it simply; if our products don’t benefit consumers at the end of the day, we need to shift our priorities and build products that do. This belief drives our focus on consumer transparency and data ownership as we grow.
As a part of this growth, we are excited to announce that Truework has joined the Financial Technology Association (FTA), a consumer-centric fintech non-profit trade group. The FTA aims to educate consumers, regulators, and the industry on the value of technology-centered financial services while advocating for the modernization of financial regulation to support inclusion, fairness, and innovation.
Founded earlier this year, the FTA has assembled a leading group of fintech companies, investors, and policy experts sharing these goals.
As we’ve built our identity platform, we’ve seen automated income and employment verifications provide increased financial access to a broader and more inclusive group of consumers,” said Ryan Sandler, Truework Co-Founder and CEO. “We’re excited to work together with policy makers and the FTA in breaking down structural barriers to financial independence.
Truework is joining the FTA along with Klarna, Nium, and Sezzle. Milan Dalal, FTA Senior Government Relations Advisor, noted that the new members will help push forward the organization’s advocacy efforts.
“We’re thrilled to have these four highly-respected companies that span the fintech ecosystem join the FTA, which is dedicated to advancing policies that provide important consumer protections while facilitating safe, inclusive, low-cost, and equitable products and services.”
Our team is excited to contribute and shape the next generation of fintech products and services. The future of fintech will hinge on a successful balance of consumer protection, financial access, and intelligent regulation. By joining the FTA, Truework will help guide the discussion that will have a massive impact on the future of fintech.
The FTA’s Policy Objectives
- Safeguarding consumers and promoting financial education and literacy;
- Providing fair, accessible, and transparent financial services to consumers, including marginalized and underserved communities;
- Championing the role of the U.S. and its norms in the global financial ecosystem;
- Encouraging responsible and equitable private sector innovation and competition; and,
- Further upgrading the national financial infrastructure.
