24 Hour Fitness

24 Hour Fitness is a chain of privately owned fitness centers located throughout the United States. The 24 Hour Fitness headquarters are in San Ramon, California and it is the largest fitness chain in the United States based upon membership numbers in the second largest if you base it on number of locations. 24 Hour Fitness has more than 400 clubs in several US states and has a collections contracting company in Jamaica. At last count, 24 Hour Fitness had over 22,000 employees and some of employment opportunities include service expert, personal trainers, administrative in financial positions, human resources, and more.

24 Hour Fitness began in 1983 when Mark Mastrov bought a gym that he had been using himself and turned it into a 24 Hour Fitness Center. The original name of the company was 24-Hour Nautilus. He contracted Mark Golob and Dean Moloney to do the marketing for the gym and they created promotional campaigns with celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mike Tyson that increased membership dramatically. In 1996, the company combined the various companies that they had acquired including Nautilus, 24-hour Family Fitness Centers, and Gold's Gyms of Hawaii under the brand name of 24 Hour Fitness. They offer a number of membership options and programs including basic membership, training club 24, GX24 classes, and much more.

24 Hour Fitness has more than 4 million members as of 2017. They have 420 locations in 18 states and employ approximately 22,000 people. Some of the major competitors include LA Fitness, Gold's Gym, Anytime Fitness and Aspen Fitness. Although this is a private company that does not share information on their revenue, financial experts estimate that in 2015 24 Hour Fitness had revenue of $1.41 billion, which was an increase from $1.33 billion the previous year.
