About Amgen
Amgen is the new name of the Applied Molecular Genetics Company, and it is an American biopharmaceutical company. Amgen's headquarters are in Thousand Oaks, California. The company is best-known for two closely related drugs - Neulasta and Neupogen - which are used to prevent infections in patients who are undergoing chemotherapy. They are also the makers of Enbrel, Epogen, Aranesp, Sensipar/Mimpara, Nplate, Vectibix, Prolia, and XGEVA. As of 2016, there were over 19,000 people working for Amgen. Since its beginning, Amgen has made more than five major acquisition, including medications that physicians and patients depend upon for various purposes. In 2016, Amgen purchased the rights to a T cell engager compound that is used to treat multiple myeloma.

Amgen's quarterly revenue growth was at 4.3 percent while their quarterly earnings growth was at 6.7 percent.
