AMP Energy

AMP Energy is an energy drink brand that is owned by Pepsi. When it was introduced in 2001, AMP Energy was initially distributed under the Mountain Dew soft drink brand. However, it has had its own label and marketing since 2009. It comes in two different sizes including a 16-ounce and 24-ounce can, and it is sold within the United States as well as a few places around the world. AMP Energy was the number four energy drink brand in the United States according to retail sales as of 2009. There are more than 263,000 people working for AMP Energy as of 2017, and positions include customer service, marketing, brand ambassadors, production facility positions, research and flavor creation, information technology, human resources and more.

AMP Energy was supposed to be an extension of the Mountain Dew brand in 2001, but it became so popular that executives decided to market it under his own name. For a long time, the label read AMP Energy from Mountain Dew, but in 2008 the product name was changed to show just AMP Energy with only a Mountain Dew logo in the bottom section of the can. There have been several different flavors throughout the years including the original AMP Energy flavor, the sugar free flavor, Overdrive cherry, Relaunch orange, Elevate mixed berry, Traction, grape, Green Tea, Lightning lemonade and Watermelon. One of the flavors called Traction has now been renamed to Boost Energy. There are also a new line of juices that contain B vitamins, ginseng and taurine among the other nutrients.

AMP energy products are distributed to more than 200 countries and it is estimated that Pepsi products like AMP bring in $43.3 billion for Pepsi each year. However, another estimate names the revenue at $63.52 billion as of 2017.
