Aramark

Aramark is a public company with the official name Aramark Corporation, providing food services facilities and uniforms to clients in all sorts of industries including corrections, leisure, health care and education. They operate mostly in the United States, but also in some additional countries. The headquarters of Aramark can be found at the Aramark tower in Center City, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They have approximately 270,000 employees with most of them located in the United States. There are a variety of positions that these employees fill including logistics, research, delivery, customer service and sales.

Aramark started as Davidson Brothers in 1936, founded by Davre and Henry Davidson. The first incarnation of this company was simply to provide vending services to aviation plant employees in Southern California. However, one partner got together with William Fishman in 1959 to form the automatic retailers of America which became a publicly traded company in 1960.

Some of the more notable customers that Aramark serve include the Chicago Public Schools organization; the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections; and the Wichita Falls Independent School District. In 2017, Aramark was in the news for partnering with the Humane Society for a bid to offer plant-based food more often for consumers.

Not only does Aramark operate in the United States, which is its primary operating space, but it also extends to Canada and 20 other countries as well. These countries include major retail markets like the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Chile, South Korea, and the Philippines. Aramark is a publicly traded company and their last reported revenue for the 2017 fiscal year was $15.5 billion. That puts their revenue per share at $63.30 and their quarterly revenue growth at 10.5 percent.
