CVS Caremark

CVS Caremark is a subsidiary of CVS health with headquarters in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, working specifically in the prescription benefit management area of the company. They are owned by CVS Health and serve customers all across the United States. The website allows you to do things like check cost and coverage, look at savings opportunities, check your order status and manager prescriptions. As of 2005, they had approximately 13,620 employees. The company was founded in 1993 in Birmingham, Alabama. The original name of the company was Medpartners Incorporated. After the company went public in 1995, they became the largest PBM company in the world due to their many acquisitions throughout the 90s and subsequent years. By 1998, they had reported revenues of $7 billion. Some of the acquisitions that they made include Caremark international, which is spun off from Baxter International, in 1992. Caremark and Medpartners came together to form the current company in it continued to grow much larger with both of them on board.
