Century 21

Century 21 is an American real estate agent franchise that started in the 70s. They have thousands of independently owned and operated franchises all across the United States and even in 78 countries worldwide. They have more than 110,000 people working in sales in the real estate business. Almost all of the employment opportunities are either franchisee positions, such as real estate agents in the Century 21 network, or support positions that are within those offices, such as secretaries, legal aides, and various other realty-related support positions.

Century 21 began in 1970 112 real estate agents named Art Barlett and Marsh Fisher started the company in Orange County, California. They chose the name because they not only wanted a name that had been around for a long time but they also wanted all of the rights that they could get and the 20th century was a pretty common theme in businesses all over the world. They chose Century 21 after some deliberation. The company made several acquisitions over the years, including Transworld Corporation, which became the parent company. Some of the other parent companies over the years have included MetLife, Hospitality Franchise Systems, and Reology.

Although the company has its headquarters in Madison, New Jersey, there are more than 70 countries where there is a Century 21 location. There are more than 7400 independently owned and franchised broker offices. There are also more than 111,000 salespeople working for Century 21, as well as a large number of support staff that are hired by the franchises themselves.
