Chipotle Mexican Grill is a chain of fast-food restaurants located in the United States. It is one of the largest American chains of casual fast-food dining and they have since expanded internationally as well. The company is publicly traded, and is one of the major competitors in the Mexican-American market which includes Baja Fresh and Qdoba Mexican Grill. In 2017, they had over 64,000 employees. Chipotle Mexican Grill hires for both restaurant positions and corporate positions. Corporate positions may include things like human resources, finances, executive management, graphic design, marketing and more. Restaurant positions are far more prevalent and include management positions for stores, cashiers, cooks and shift leaders.

The company was founded on July 13, 1993 by Steve Ells. They had already expanded to 16 different locations in the state of Colorado when McDonald's became a major investor in the company in 1998. By the time McDonald's opted out, the chain had grown to more than 500 locations across the United States. They have a number of subsidiaries including Pizzeria Locale, Shophouse Southeast, Tasty Made, and Asia Kitchen. The food sold by Chipotle Mexican Grill in their restaurants include Mexican American food items such as burritos and tacos.

By October 2014, Chipotle had 17 locations they were outside the United States. The majority of them were in Canada, with the next biggest locale with a number of locations being the United Kingdom. However, the company is already in the process of expanding more internationally and as a result there are now locations in France, Germany and several other foreign countries. Chipotle is a publicly traded company that reported $4.65 billion in revenue for 2017, with revenue per share at $165.74. They also reported their quarterly revenue growth at 8.3 percent.
