Colgate-Palmolive

Colgate-Palmolive is an American company that manufactures, distributes and promotes a variety of consumer products including Colgate dental products and Palmolive dishwashing liquid. Their headquarters are in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, and they are a publicly traded company that can be found on the New York Stock Exchange. As of December 2017, they had approximately 35,900 employees. There are a number of open positions at any given time including jobs like packaging engineers, oral care consultants, associate scientist, brand managers, customer service and logistics, retail environment managers, HR trainees, administrative assistance, customer development executives, team leaders, professional relations managers and pharmacy shopper development managers. These are based both in the United States and around the world.

The company can trace its roots back to 1806 when William Colgate created a starch, candle and soap factory in New York City. The original name of the company was William Colgate and Company. However, after a heart attack, business slowed considerably until the 1840s when they began selling individually packaged soap which they followed up in just a few short years by Colgate toothpaste. Colgate was the first company to sell toothpaste in a tube. The company was ranked 184th on the fortune 500 list of 2018 for the largest US corporations.

Most of the business that Colgate-Palmolive does is within the United States, but they do have some international facilities. In fact, they have approximately 280 different locations and 80 of them are spread out across 70 countries. Some of those countries include Australia, China, Brazil, France, Guatemala, Italy, India, Mexico, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam and Columbia. In the 2017 fiscal year, Colgate-Palmolive reported $15.62 billion in revenue with revenue per share at $17.89. They also reported a gross profit of $9.36 billion.
