Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel is an American restaurant chain that includes a gift store with a very distinct southern country theme, officially goinf by the name Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Incorporated. Their headquarters are located in Lebanon, Tennessee, which is also the location of the first store. On July 28, 2017, Cracker Barrel employed approximately 73,000 people. Most of the positions at Cracker Barrel are inside the stores. Some of the most common positions include waitstaff, cooks, prep cooks, gift shop cashiers, shift managers, and store managers. However, Cracker Barrel also has positions open at their distribution centers where all of the retail products are stored and shipped out to nationwide locations, as well as home-office careers in a variety of fields.

The founder of Cracker Barrel was Don Evins, who started the store in 1969 after being a representative for Shell Oil. Initially, the restaurant gift store concept was a plan to improve gasoline sales. However, he modeled it after southern country stores that he had visited himself as a child. The first restaurant was built close to Interstate 40 in Lebanon, Tennessee, and it opened in September 1969, serving southern cuisine like biscuits, grits, ham, and of course, turnip greens. The store was incorporated in 1970 and soon had a number of locations. They went public in 1981. Cracker Barrel still offers traditional southern cuisine in the same style as the original, and now has gift stores that feature a variety of local and collectible souvenirs.
Cracker Barrel is currently only in the United States, but they reported revenue of $3.03 billion for the 2017 fiscal year with the reported revenue per share of $126.21. They also had quarterly revenue growth with the reported number at 9.1 percent for the quarter.
