CSX Corporation is a US holding company that is focused on rail transportation and real estate across North America. Its headquarters are located in Jacksonville Florida.

Established in 1980, the company was then part of the Chessie System and Seaboard Coast Line Industries merger. All the railroads of both companies would then become subsidiaries of the CSX Corporation. Eventually, these railroads were merged to create a single line. The founding chairman was Prime F. Osborn III of Seaboard.

The similarly named CSX Transportation is the resulting train line. This is a class I railroad that operates in Eastern America and Ontario and Quebec in Canada. The CSX railroad operates roughly 21,000 route miles with 34,000km of track. CSX Corporation is the holding company.

CSX Corporation had a revenue of $11.4 billion as of 2017, and an operating income of $3.8 billion USD.
