CV's Family Foods

CV's Family Foods is a chain of full-service grocery stores that are located in 3 states. The stores are quite large and comprehensive and offer thousands of different grocery items and household items. The grocery stores are present in just three states, but have many locations within those states. There are a private company with headquarters in Boonville, Arkansas. Most of the employment opportunities are for in-store positions like cashiers, baggers, store managers, assistant managers, stockers, warehouse positions, shipping and delivery, customer service, maintenance and janitorial, and various other grocery store positions.

The company was started by CV Combs. Combs had been involved in the grocery business for more than 50 years, starting as a cleanup worker and stocker for a local grocery store at a very young age. From there, Combs learned the grocery business and then went on to work for several wholesale and retail companies within the grocery industry. He opened his very first grocery store in 1970 but the first CV's Family Foods wasn't opened until 1981. He had moved to Paris, Arkansas, to be closer to his parents. The most recent activity from CV's Foods was a new program that offered shoppers value foods at cost +10 percent. This meant deeply discounted items in many cases that had been marked up between 50 percent and 100 percent prior.

There are 13 stores currently operating as CV's family foods. In 2004, the company purchased Martin's Food Stores, which brought the total of stores operating under this banner to 31. They are present in the states of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. This is a private company that does not publish financial information but current estimates are that the company has total revenue of between $1 million and $2.5 million.
