About Dunkin'

Dunkin' Donuts is a quick service restaurant chain that serves mostly donuts and coffee with headquarters in Canton, Massachusetts. It is one of the largest coffee and baked good chains in the world with more than 12,000 restaurants across the globe. Some of the products offered by Dunkin' Donuts include donuts, bagels, hot nice beverages and other baked goods. The largest competitor for Dunkin' Donuts was a US chain called Mister Doughnut, but Dunkin' acquired them in 1990 and now has the market cornered on coffee and baked goods. They have 11,000 shops with 9200 locations within the United States and although they do not publish the number of employees they have, it can be estimated from these totals that they have approximately 100,000 people working for them. Most of the positions are in-store positions including cashiers, doughnut makers, baristas and more.

Dunkin' Donuts started when William Rosenberg opened a restaurant called open cattle in 1948. This restaurant served donuts and coffee in Quincy, Massachusetts. In 1950, he changed the name to Dunkin' Donuts. The idea for the restaurant came after selling food in factories and construction sites where the two most popular items purchased were coffee and donuts. The restaurant was successful and Rosenberg began selling the franchise license in 1955. The products that are available at Dunkin' Donuts locations include various baked goods that include fresh donuts with a variety of flavors and types, hot beverages like coffees, iced beverages, frozen beverages and in some locations there even sandwiches and soft drinks offered.

Dunkin' Donuts may be found around the world with the largest international market in South Korea. There were more than 900 stores in South Korea by 2014, which is more than either McDonald's or Starbucks. In 2008, Dunkin' Donuts opened its first restaurant in Shanghai, China and moved on to Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the UK, and Stockholm, Sweden. They reported $881.95 million in revenue for 2017.
