The company was founded as Dolores Labs in 2007 by Lukas Blewald and Christopher Van Pelt. Today, the company works with a number of well-known brands including Twitter, Facebook, Google, Autodesk, Mozilla, eBay, Esty, Toyota and Cisco Systems. The companys technologies include things like their Real Time Foto Moderator which checks for inappropriate content and their machine learning system called Rich Data Summit. Some of the things that they focus on include enterprise-ready training data, machine learning expertise and much more.
Figure Eight only has the single location in San Francisco, but they do have customers all over the world. They are also partnered with some major technology companies like Amazon, Google, IBM, Swagbucks, instaGC, Boizu, Memolink and Superrewards. The company went through a series of funding rounds, raising $1.2 million in 2009 and $5 million in 2010. Their final funding round was Series C funding which ended in September of 2014 with $12.5 million raised.
