The company is third when it comes to revenue among providers to US banks and most recently, in the summer of 2018, the company acquired the naming rights to the home of the Milwaukee Bucks for the next 25 years. As of 2017, they had approximately 23,000 employees. The headquarters are in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This company began on July 31, 1984, by a merger between sunshine state systems Incorporated and first data processing which was located in Milwaukee. The company first went public in 1986 as a $70 million data processing company. After becoming a publicly traded company, Fiserv was already serving a number of financial institutions within the United States.
