Frontier Communications

Frontier Communications Corporation is a telecommunications company located in the United States with headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut. The name Frontier Communications did not come along until July 31, 2008, and until then it was called the Citizens Utility Company. Citizens Utility Company primarily served rural areas, but Frontier Communications has since expanded into major metropolitan markets as well. They are the fourth largest provider of digital subscriber lines in the United States and offer broadband Internet, telephone, as well as other services. They had 28,000 employees as of 2016, and employment opportunities within this company include technicians, installation, technical support, customer support and billing, accounting, managerial positions, sales, information technology, and more.

Citizens Utilities Company was originally based in Minneapolis, but the original company was actually named Public Utilities Consolidated Corporation and can be traced back to 1935. However, President Richard Rosenblatt brought the organization through the postwar years and grew it considerably through the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Frontier provides a number of services that include local and long-distance telephone services, broadband Internet access, wireless Internet access, digital phone services, DISH TV which is offered via satellite, fiber-optic Internet for commercial organizations and fiber-optic television services as well. They also provide digital television and computer technical support. Frontier customers can be found in 29 states.

Frontier Communications is not an international company, instead operating solely within the United States offering everything from high-speed Internet service to local telephone service and satellite television. They are a publicly traded company, and as of the 2017 fiscal year they reported revenue was $8.83 billion with reported revenue per share of $113.57.
