Gap, sometimes referred to as the Gap or Gap Incorporated, is an American clothing and accessories retailer that has a presence all over the world. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California, and there are five primary divisions under the main store name. The company operates more than 3700 stores all over the world, with over 2400 of them located within the United States. As of December 2017, Gap employed over 135,000 people. Most of the employment opportunities that you will find at Gap are in-store positions. Many of these are sales associate and cashier positions, but there are also management positions within these stores, as well as behind the scenes stocking and driving positions. There are also a limited number of corporate positions in the areas of human resources, finance and accounting, and customer service.

This company was founded in 1969 by Donald and Doris Fisher. Banana Republic, Old Navy, Weddington Way, Intermix, and Athletix are all divisions under the Gap Incorporated banner. Gap is the largest specialty retailer in the United States and is even third in the number of international locations, with 3727 stores worldwide and more than 135,000 global employees. Just over 2400 of the stores are located in the United States. The company was a family-owned business for a long time with Donald Fisher serving as chairman of the board until 2004. The current Chief Executive Officer of Gap is Art Peck.

They reported income of $15.85 billion as of the 2017 fiscal year with operating income of $1.47 billion. Their total assets were valued at $7.98 billion with total equity at $3.14 billion with both showing an increase from the previous year.
