About General Motors

General Motors Company is an American multinational corporation that has its headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. They design and manufacture vehicles and vehicle parts as well as conducting the marketing and distribution as well. They also sell financial services with their global headquarters located in the Renaissance Center in Detroit. In December 2017, GM had 180,000 employees across all of their divisions, which included positions like corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, creative design, customer care, engineering, global solutions, OnStar, global purchasing, loan officers, and management. There also positions along the entire supply chain of GM.
General Motors was founded on June 8, 2009, in its present state, but it was actually started on September 16, 1908, as the General Motors Corporation. The founders were Frederick Smith, Charles Stewart Mott, and William C Durrant.

GM produce vehicles and vehicle parts within four separate divisions including Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC. They produce commercial vehicles in addition to providing automobiles and automobile parts for personal purchase. The company also has a number of services or financial products that they offer including GMAC financing which is a popular option among those who are purchasing a GM vehicle on credit.

General Motors is an international company that produces vehicles in 37 countries. These are sold under various brands which include the aforementioned Cadillac, GMC, Buick, and Chevrolet as well as HSV, Wuling, Holden, Ravon, and Baojun among others. The current company was formed in 2009 after the bankruptcy of General Motors Corporation which became Motors Liquidation Company. Most of the valuable assets of the old company were purchased by the new one. General Motors is a publicly traded company with revenues and in 2017 they reported $144.2 billion in revenue and revenue per share at $101.62.
