About Goodrich

Goodrich was an American Aerospace manufacturing organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina. It produced a wide range of products, including actuation systems, aerostructures, ISR systems, polymer products, engine components, sensors, and landing gear.

The Goodrich Corporation was formerly known as the B.F. Goodrich Company and was founded in 1870 in Ohio by Dr. Benjamin Franklin Goodrich, the company's namesake. In 1869, Benjamin Franklin Goodrich purchased the Hudson River Rubber Company and accepted an offer of $13,600 to move the business to Akron, Ohio the next year. Goodrich was given many high profile World War II military products and grew to become one of the largest manufacturers of rubber and tires. That product line would ultimately be sold to Michelin in 1988. The company exited the tire business the same year, but BFGoodrich remains a popular tire brand.

In 2011, the remaining business was sold to United Technologies Corporation (UTX) for $18.4 billion, equating to $127.50 per share.
