Honeywell International Incorporated is an American company within the aerospace, consumer technology, and engineering services industries that makes a variety of products for both the average consumer and government institutions. They have a number of different divisions including four business units that are known as Honeywell Aerospace, Honeywell Home and Building Technologies, Honeywell Safety and Productivity Solutions, and Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies. There are over 130,000 people working for Honeywell and they are a Fortune 100 company. Most people think that the company began when Mark Honeywell established his heating and specialty company in 1906, but the truth is that Honeywell can actually be said to have begun in 1885 when Albert Butz invented a system to automatically regulate coal furnaces. Mark Honeywell originally established his company in Wabash, Indiana. His goal was to manufacture and market an invention called the Mercury seal generator. The company grew over the years, particularly thanks to the acquisition of jewel manufacturing company in the 20s and began to be known as a leader in the field. Today, Honeywell has a lot of brands for commercial and retail consumers, including Honeywell thermostats, security systems, air cleaners, dehumidifiers, years, fans, safes, home generators and paper shredders.

Although Honeywell does a significant part of their business in the United States, they have also embarked on a global expansion that has put them in a position to become a major leader in global technology. Their products are distributed all over the world and they have offices in several different countries. They reported revenue of $42.28 billion as of the 2017 fiscal year and $56.04 revenue per share.
