Honeywell may have started when an inventor named Albert Butz patented the furnace regulator alarm for the first time in 1885. His company was called Thermal Electric Regulator Company and he started it in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1886. As for Honeywell SPS, it can probably be traced back to the 1980’s when safety and productivity solutions combined with data analysis started becoming quite useful.

Although the company is headquartered in New Jersey, they are present in hundreds of locations around the world. They are also a publicly traded company that reported $42.28 billion in revenue last fiscal year with revenue per share at $56.04. Honeywell had quarterly revenue growth of 8.3 percent.
