Knight-Swift Transportation

The Knight-Swift transportation company formed after two separate transportation companies merged together in 2017. Knight-Swift is a publicly traded company located in the United States, with its headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona. It was not until 2017 that Knight Transportation merged with Swift Transportation and the company became one. This caused both revenue and employee requirements to double as the two companies came together. The majority of the employment opportunities at Knight-Swift are driving positions, although there are other positions in dispatching, logistics and operations.

The story of Knight-Swift transportation is somewhat complicated. Swift transportation and Knight transportation were both founded in Phoenix, Arizona sometime in the late 1960s. Ownership in one form or another belongs to Randy, Gary, Keith, and Kevin Knight as well as Jerry Moyes. Both of these companies operated independently for many years until they merged in 2017.

As of 2018, Knight-Swift transportation does not operate in other countries. Instead, you can find them on the roads throughout the continental United States. They are one of the largest transportation and trucking companies in the country and in the 2017 fiscal year they reported annual revenues of $4.4 billion with revenue per share at $28.09. These totals represented significant business gains for the company, providing positive data for the efficacy of the merger.
