Knight Transportation

Knight Transportation is now called Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings Incorporated. It is a publicly traded company in the United States, based in Phoenix, Arizona. It was started in 1990 by two sets of brothers. They initially worked for Swift Transportation but started their own company, Knight Transportation. However, in 2017, the two companies merged to create one trucking company. There are now over 25,000 people working for Knight-Swift Transportation, and some of the employment opportunities include building associates, diesel mechanics, recruiting managers, transportation analysts, and driver development managers.

Knight Transportation was founded in 1990, but Swift Transportation started in 1966. The merger between Knight and Swift happened on September 8, 2017. Their current headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Knight Transportation started operations by moving goods from Phoenix to Los Angeles, California. They only had a handful of trucks at the beginning with just one service center in Phoenix, but now there are more than 4000 trucks and 8700 trailers including dry, refrigerated, and brokerage.

The services that this company provides are almost exclusively transportation services with 27 regional services, six regional temperature control service centers, and 12 brokerage service centers. They also have 13 truck and trailer sales locations. Knight-Swift Transportation has customers all over the United States, as well as customers in Canada and Mexico. Revenues have grown considerably even from well before the merger. They had revenues of $13 million in 1991, but reported revenue of $4.48 billion as of the 2017 fiscal year. They also reported revenue per share at $28.09 and had an amazing quarterly revenue growth of 387.4 percent.
