Lion USA’s most successful production has been Cash Cab, a television game show that is broadcast by the Discovery network. The show is hosted by comedian Ben Bailey, who serves as quizmaster while driving participants to their destination. Passengers have the opportunity to answer as many questions as possible before reaching their destination, earning them cash prizes. Bailey as received numerous Daytime Emmy nominations for the show. He has won the Daytime Emmy for outstanding gameshow host in 2011 and 2013.
Lion USA is a subsidiary of Lion Television, based in London. Lion USA is led by Tony Tackaberry, who serves as CEO. Before joining Lion USA, Tackaberry worked for a number of international production companies. The Lion USA’s New York office also houses three Senior Vice President’s of Development.
Lion USA is owned by all3media, one of the largest independent production and distribution companies. All3media is comprised of 27 production companies around the world and is led by CEO Jane Turton. In May 2014, all3media was acquired jointly by Discovery, Inc. and Liberty Global for US$930 million.
