Northrop Grumman

Northrop Grumman is an American company that deals with global aerospace and defense technology. Northrop and Grumman were two separate companies up until 1994, and as recently as 2015, they were one of the top five arms traders in the world. They are on the Fortune 500 list and are well known for hiring military personnel. As of 2018, there were more than 85,000 people working for Northrop Grumman worldwide. The Northrop Corporation was formed in California in 1939 by a man named Jack Northrop. The company moved to Delaware and was reincorporated and renamed as Northrop Aircraft in 1985. In 1994, Northrop purchased Grumman Aerospace. Grumman Aerospace was a well-known company that created the Apollo Lunar Module. After some further mergers, the company had created an infrastructure where they could create both aerospace and defense technology including the Northrup P61 Black Widow and various other products for the Department of Defense. Products include military aircraft, military vessels, missile defense systems, satellite systems, information technology for defense, and advanced electronic sensors and systems.

The company has several global headquarters including one in Australia, one in Japan, Europe, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and South Korea. They also have operations facilities in factories around the world as well. They are a publicly traded company that posted revenue of $26.77 billion as of the 2017 fiscal year. That came out to $153.65 in revenue per share for shareholders. They also showed quarterly revenue growth of 10 percent and a gross profit of $5.95 billion. Their quarterly earnings were even a higher than their quarterly revenue growth, with a 24.1 percent increase.
