QUALCOMM started in 1985 through a partnership of several people including Irwin M. Jacobs, Andrew Viterbi, Harvey White, Adelia Coffman, Andrew Cohen, Klein Gilhousen, and Franklin Antonio. The first products that they created included satellite locating and messaging services that were used by trucking companies. In 1990, QUALCOMM began designing the first CDMA-based cell stations based on that same satellite system. Shortly after that, QUALCOMM began to make CDMA cell phones, base stations and chips. Since then, the company has done a great deal to establish modern cellular standards. Products include BREW, OmniTRACS, MediaFLO, QChat, mirasol displays, uiOne, Gobi, QizxCDMA/WCDMA chipsets, and Snapdragon.

However, QUALCOMM is a huge company that is found all over the world with over 200 locations across the globe.
