Rainbow Foods

Rainbow Foods is a supermarket chain that has been around for more than 30 years, with more than 40 stores in the state of Minnesota. It is the second-largest grocery chain in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, area, and one of the top 10 grocery chains in the United States on a list that includes Kroger, Albertsons, Safeway, and more. In the past, this grocery store led the market, but due to the arrival of other aforementioned chains, the store began to have a much smaller presence. The parent company is called Supervalu, and as of 2017 they had over 28,000 employees. Some of the employment opportunities may include departmental managers, clerks, bakery workers, warehouse and shipping, baggers, stockers, store managers, assistant managers and much more.

The company began in 1983 when Sid Appelbaum and DB Reinhardt joined forces to create a grocery store chain in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The chain was subsequently sold to Fleming Companies in 1994 and then to Roundy's in 2003. As more grocery store chains began to crop up in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, this store began to suffer when it came to sales. However, it continued to survive over the years until it was finally sold to Supervalu. The company's products include supermarkets, grocery stores, pharmacies, and various other food centers.

There are more than 100 locations currently in the states of Iowa, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Washington, Wisconsin, Mississippi, and Illinois. 77 of these are franchised locations, while the rest are owned by the company. There are more than 109 Supervalu pharmacies that are part of Rainbow Foods and there is even an international presence which includes Ireland and other international locations. A report from 2017 stated revenue of $11.19 billion.
