About SeaWorld

SeaWorld is a chain of marine resorts located within the United States. They are one of the most popular attractions within the United States to visit and have several locations within that country. There are not only theme parks that feature animals; there are also marine mammal parks, oceanariums, and rehabilitation centers. They are owned by the parent company called SeaWorld Entertainment. There are over 900 employees who work for SeaWorld's corporate office and over 20,000 employees who work for the resorts. Some of the employment opportunities include drivers, food service attendance, merchandise sales clerks, park operations posts, seasonal workers, audiovisual technicians, associate trainers, park operations workers, assistant culinary supervisors, and much more.

SeaWorld has been around for a long time. The SeaWorld corporate office is in Orlando, Florida, and it was founded in 1964 by Milton C. Shedd as well as three other people: Ken Norris, David Demott, and George Millay. These four were graduates of UCLA, and they originally started with the idea to build a marine show underwater as well as a marine underwater restaurant. However, this concept proved unworkable and they decided to build a theme park instead. The first theme park that was opened was in San Diego, California. At the time, in 1964, there were only a few dolphins, sea lions and a few other attractions. The park was small but still proved to be a success.

Today, SeaWorld San Diego is still in existence and provides tens of thousands of people with a glimpse of marine life including live shows that include killer whales and sea lions as well as dolphins. There is also a location in Orlando, Florida, a location in San Antonio, Texas, and a new breeding program in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. SeaWorld's IPO in April of 2015 raised over $700 million at $27 per share, and reported revenue of $1.26 billion in 2017.
