About Southern California Edison
Southern California Edison is the largest subsidiary of Edison International. They provide the electricity to the majority of the state of California, especially in Southern California. There are more than 14 million people with electricity thanks to Southern Edison, which has a service territory that extends across 50,000 square miles. There are some smaller companies that serve certain municipal areas of California. As for employees, SCE employs over 13,000 individuals as of 2013. Employment opportunities include distribution positions, dispatchers, environmental program managers, operations support positions, preconstruction inspectors, land service agents, project managers, creative design services, and more.
Southern California Edison began with an idea by Henry E. Huntington and John S. Eastwood, who started the company around 1908 and tested for reservoirs to be constructed in central California in order to found the Pacific Light and Power company. Pacific Light and Power eventually became one of the largest hydroelectric power systems in the United States.
Now, Southern California Edison offers electricity generation for homes and businesses, electric power transmission, and electrical power distribution. They provide power to a significant number of people in the southern California area.
Although SCE has an area covering more than 50,000 square miles, there is no international presence. In fact, the only place you will find Southern California Edison is actually in Southern California. The northern part of the state is covered by the Pacific Gas & Electric Company of San Francisco. As for finances, SCE's reported revenue for the 2017 fiscal year was $12.35 billion with reported revenue per share of $28.40. The financial report showed a quarterly revenue growth of four percent.
