Sysco Corporation is an American corporation then markets and distributes food products that are required for large-scale preparation to various types of establishments including institutions, hospitals, and hospitality businesses like hotels, restaurants, and more. They also wholesale to other companies providing food services. Sysco headquarters can be found in Houston, Texas. The name itself is taken from Systems and Services Company. It is the largest food distributor, with more than 600,000 clients that come from a huge variety of fields. Sysco has a total of over 66,500 employees as of 2017, and the variety of jobs include warehouse order selectors, shuttle truck drivers, warehouse workers, sales positions, outside sales reps, and CDL delivery drivers.

The company was founded in 1969 by Herbert Irving, John F. Baugh, and Harry Rosenthal. They went public just a year later on March 3, 1970. In 2009, Sysco was listed in the 204th spot in the Fortune 500 global list in Forbes magazine. This was based on sales volume. They've also been ranked as the seventh largest Fortune 500 Company in Texas and the 55th largest in the United States by revenue. Most of the large companies in Texas are part of the petroleum industry and the only two companies bigger in Texas than Sysco that are not part of that industry are AT&T and Dell.

Sysco has more than 600,000 clients throughout the world, including those companies that they provide management consulting to. They have more than 330 distribution facilities located across the globe and they provide service to more than 90 countries. Sysco reported revenue of $58.73 billion for the 2017 fiscal year with quarterly revenue growth of six point two percent. They also had revenue per share at $112.31 and their quarterly earnings growth was at 47.1 percent.
